Ruskington Parish Council publishes another vacancy notice

What happened

Ruskington Parish Council published a new Notice of Vacancy in Office of Parish Councillor on 22 September. Its homepage currently says the 13-member council has four positions available.

Why it mattered locally

The vacancies affect the number of residents currently representing the village at parish level.

  • The detailed statutory notice is displayed as an image rather than accessible webpage text.
Claim or context at the time

No election-request deadline or subsequent co-option process is inferred from the image notice.

Parish records checked

What happened

Ruskington's 8 September full-council minutes remain explicitly draft. Cranwell, Brauncewell and Byard's Leap has not published a newer regular-meeting outcome than its 7 September material.

Why it mattered locally

Checks of Leasingham and Roxholm, Dorrington, Rauceby and Wilsford did not identify a new substantive September decision record suitable for inclusion this week.

Claim or context at the time

Several council pages were intermittently inaccessible during the check, so this should not be interpreted as confirmation that no unpublished action has occurred.

Old Sidings masterplan reaches Executive Board stage

What happened

North Kesteven District Council is seeking to create a long-term masterplan for the Old Sidings area at the southern end of Sleaford town centre. The area includes council-owned land around the former Tec Foods site, land behind the Carre Arms and sites neighbouring the privately owned Bass Maltings.

Why it mattered locally

The proposed masterplan is intended to guide regeneration and investment over roughly 20 years.

  • FCBStudios has been selected to lead the work.
  • Public consultation is envisaged in two stages: the first expected in November 2026, followed by another next spring.
  • The programme was scheduled for NKDC Executive Board consideration on 24 September.
  • At the time of this edition's source check, NKDC's published information still stated that no decisions had been made on future projects and no formal post-meeting decision record had been located.

Claim or context at the time

The masterplan would be a non-statutory framework, not planning permission. The programme is not being described as approved pending publication of the formal 24 September outcome.
