Ruskington Parish Council's latest notice, dated 30 July, scheduled resurfacing of the multi-use games area from 3 August for two to three weeks, weather permitting. No official update confirming commencement, progress or completion had been published by the 14 August check.

A short progress notice would help residents understand whether the facility is available and when the work is expected to finish. The absence of an online update does not prove that work has not taken place.

No new determination, committee date or official consultation outcome was found for application 26/0882/RESM, covering reserved matters for 172 homes, attenuation basins and estate roads at Handley Chase, Sleaford.

The scale of the proposal makes the eventual design, drainage, road and infrastructure details relevant beyond the immediate site. Sleaford Town Council's response from its 5 August meeting was still unpublished on the meeting page; North Kesteven District Council is the determining authority.

Application 26/0575/FUL covers National Grid's proposed approximately 11-hectare, 400kV substation north of Heath Lane, including four new pylons and two removals. Representations are invited by 23 August.

The proposal is a significant piece of energy infrastructure. A campaign-organised public meeting is advertised for 6:30pm on Monday 17 August at The Venue, Navenby. Objections and promoter statements remain representations rather than planning findings.

Bids to the Greater Lincolnshire Brownfield Housing Fund closed on 9 August, but no register of submitted or shortlisted sites had been published by 14 August.

Residents cannot yet see which sites may receive support, the proposed subsidy per home or the accompanying affordable-housing and infrastructure assessments.

The published programme says the Grantham Road level crossing should reopen to vehicles on Saturday 15 August, with most affected bus services returning to their normal routes from Monday 17 August. No official completion or delay notice had been published at the morning check on 14 August.

Reopening would reconnect bus journeys south of the crossing with the town centre, station and Market Place. Confirmation is particularly important for disabled passengers, older residents, carers and people relying on buses for work, shopping or appointments.

The Care Quality Commission has published its first full assessment of how Lincolnshire County Council meets its adult-social-care duties. The overall rating is “requires improvement”. The assessment covered nine areas of the council's Care Act responsibilities, following an on-site inspection in December 2025.

The county council arranges support used by older people, disabled adults and unpaid carers across Lincolnshire. Its performance affects assessments, safeguarding, choice of care, independence and support after hospital discharge. Adult care will also transfer into the future Lincolnshire Council under local-government reorganisation.

No official interim ward map, ward-by-ward allocation of the future council's intended 100 councillors, returning-officer announcement or formally verified Ruskington-area candidate selection was found on the principal official sources checked on 14 August.

The councils' requested submission date is 17 August. Ruskington residents still do not know whether the village will form its own ward, be combined with neighbouring communities or have one or more councillors in the planned May 2027 shadow-authority election.

NHS Lincolnshire is urging eligible young people to book two free doses of meningococcal B vaccine before entering university or residential further education. Eligibility includes current Year 13 students born from 1 September 2007 to 31 August 2008, and people under 25 starting university or residential further education for the first time this autumn.

Young people moving into halls or other shared accommodation face increased exposure to meningococcal infection. The offer applies across Lincolnshire, including eligible students leaving schools in Sleaford and Ruskington. It is a preventive offer and not evidence of a local outbreak.

Students received A-level, BTEC and CTEC results on 13 August. Checks of the county council and the three Sleaford Joint Sixth Form schools found collection and support information, but no verified 2026 results table for Lincolnshire, Sleaford or the joint sixth form.

National or regional statistics should not be presented as local school performance. Comparable local results and destination data would help families understand academic, vocational and apprenticeship outcomes without reducing performance to a single top-grade headline.
