CQC says Lincolnshire adult care requires improvement
What happenedThe Care Quality Commission has published its first full assessment of how Lincolnshire County Council meets its adult-social-care duties. The overall rating is “requires improvement”. The assessment covered nine areas of the council's Care Act responsibilities, following an on-site inspection in December 2025.
Why it mattered locallyThe county council arranges support used by older people, disabled adults and unpaid carers across Lincolnshire. Its performance affects assessments, safeguarding, choice of care, independence and support after hospital discharge. Adult care will also transfer into the future Lincolnshire Council under local-government reorganisation.
- The council says the assessment identified strengths in partnership working, safeguarding, support for independence and organisational learning.
- An Adult Social Care Strategy and improvement programme are in place, according to the council.
- The council has requested a formal review of elements of the assessment; the published rating remains unchanged at present.
Claim or context at the timeThe council's claim that substantial improvements have occurred since the inspection is its stated position. Updated outcome data and the result of the review request have not yet been published.
